The school was originally built in 1876 and comprised a main school building and the headteacher’s house.
These two buildings were joined together in 2005. We have three classrooms, with administration being located in the old headteacher’s house; now know as ‘School House’. Our youngest class, Stars, is made up of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
Planets class are Year 3 and 4 (Lower Key Stage 2) and Comets, our Upper Key Stage 2 class, is Year 5 and Year 6. From time to time we come together as mixed – aged classes as for particular sessions or activities this works well. We like the youngest children to be inspired by the older pupils and believe it important to foster a positive and nurturing attitude to others.
The Governing Bodies of our school, Grove House Infant & Nursery School, Kings Park Infant School, Beeston Primary, Northgate High School and Dereham Sixth Form College submitted an application to the Department for Education to form a multi-academy trust, ‘Unity Education Trust’ (UET). That application was approved and the decision was taken to convert. We are pleased to announce that on the 1st March 2017 the schools successfully converted to Academies and, at the same time, jointly formed Unity Education Trust.

Admission to the school
Any parents wishing to discuss the admission of their child are welcome to contact the Headteacher who will be pleased to talk through the admissions procedure and show you around the school.
The total number of places available in Reception (September 2022), based on the admission number set by the Local Authority, is 12. We do take applications from pupils who live outside the area but acceptance is dependent on admission numbers and the admissions policy as defined by the Local Authority. The published admission number for the school is 80 children.
